| 1995 | Implementation of the "BioRegio Competition" by the German Federal Ministry for Education and Research |
| 1996 | Munich is one of three winners in the "BioRegio Competition" |
| 1997 | BioM is founded with the objective to realize the "Munich BioRegio Concept" and BioM starts its networking and seed-financing activities |
| 1998 | BioM takes over the scientific management of the IZB, the "Innovation and Start-up Center for Biotechnology", in Martinsried |
| 2000 | the Munich biotech cluster is expanded through the incorporation of the "Life Science Center Weihenstephan" |
| 2002 | BioM manages the BioM venture capital fund for investments in later stage companies |
| 2006 | BioM Biotech Cluster Development GmbH was founded and takes over the marketing of the BioTech-Region Munich and the management within the Cluster Offensive Bavaria. |
