By public transport (MVV):

From Marienplatz, take the U-Bahn (tube) No. 6 and get off at the stop "Großhadern". Take the bus 266 (direction "Planegg") to the stop Max-Planck-Institute. Further information about connections and time tables are available on the internet site MVV.

By train (ICE, IC, or EC):

There are trains to the main train station (Hauptbahnhof) every hour. From the main train station take the S-Bahn (green sign "S") to Marienplatz, change to U-Bahn (tube) No. 6 and get off at the stop "Großhadern". Take the bus 266 (direction "Planegg") to the stop Max-Planck-Institute. By car from Stuttgart on Autobahn A8:

At the end of the A8 take the exit "Munich-West" - direction Pasing and turn right into the Pippingerstraße/Lortzingstraße. Turn left into the Landsberger Straße/Pasinger Straße - and shortly thereafter turn right into the Planegger Straße/ Pasinger Straße - on the Würmtalstraße turn left towards Munich. At the traffic lights just before Munich city border turn right into the street called "Am Klopferspitz" direction IZB (Innovations- und Gründerzentrum) and Max-Planck-Institute. The street bends to the right and just in front of the IZB building you find a big parking area on the left.

By car from Salzburg on Autobahn A8:

At the autobahn crossing "M-Brunnthal" choose the direction of AB Lindau on the 995, generally keep the direction of "Mittlerer Ring West" until Luise-Kieselbachplatz, then turn left into the Waldfriedhofstraße, which later changes it's name to Würmtalstraße. After the Munich city border turn left at the traffic lights into the street called "Am Klopferspitz" direction IZB (Innovations- und Gründerzentrum) and Max-Planck Institute. The street bends to the right and just in front of the IZB building you find a big parking area on the left.

By car from Lindau on Autobahn A96:

Take the exit Blumenau - turn right into Waldwiesenstraße direction Großhadern. At the second traffic lights, by the U-Bahn station (tube station) Großhadern, turn right into the Würmtalstraße. After the Munich city border turn left at the traffic lights into the street "Am Klopferspitz" direction IZB (Innovations- und Gründerzentrum) and Max-Planck Institute The street bends to the right and just in front of the IZB building you find a big parking area on the left.

By car from Garmisch-Partenkirchen on Autobahn A95:

On the A 95 take the exit "Munich Kreuzhof", drive along the street "Fürstenriederstraße", and then turn left into the Waldfriedhofstraße, which later changes it's name to Würmtalstraße. After the Munich city border turn left at the traffic lights into the street called "Am Klopferspitz" direction IZB (Innovations- und Gründerzentrum) and Max-Planck Institute. The street bends to the right and just in front of the IZB building you find a big parking area on the left.

By car from Nuremberg on Autobahn A 9:

At the end of the Autobahn take the exit "Munich-Schwabing" from where you get onto the Mittlerer Ring West direction Autobahn A96 (=Autobahn Lindau). On A96, direction Lindau take the exit "Blumenau". At the traffic lights turn left into the "Waldwiesenstraße", direction Großhadern.
