Technology Transfer

The technology transfer centres advise scientists on filing patents, offer assistance with setting up new businesses and with commercializing results from scientific research.

Technology Transfer Centres:

  • Fraunhofer Patent Centre for German Research represents the Fraunhofer Society in all patent and licensing matters.

  • Technology transfer centres at the universities  (TumTech, LMU KFT) and universities of applied sciences

  • Max-Planck Innovation GmbH oversees technology transfer for the Max Planck Society

  • Ascenion provides full and comprehensive advice on all aspects of intellectual property (IP) asset management to public life-science research institutions, including the GSF - National Research Centre for Environment and Health (since January 2008 called "Helmholtz Centre Munich for Environment and Health")

  • The Munich Business Plan Competition ((MBPW) stimulates and supports the establishment of innovative and rapidly expanding technology and service companies and has the function of sustainably developing the start-up network and start-up culture in the Munich region.
