BioM practices technology scouting and communicates the results obtained from basic research to suitable partners from the industry.

In collaboration with the technology transfer organizations of research institutions, BioM gives advice on channelling innovative research projects into commercializable products.

  • The German Patent and Trademark Office, a higher federal authority under the German Federal Ministry of Justice (Bundesministerium der Justiz), is the central body for industrial property rights in Germany.
  • The European Patent Office (EPA) grants European patents for the contracting states to the European Patent Convention (EPC).
