DEBRA Research GmbH, a non-profit organization located in Munich dedicated to advancing research, advocacy, and support for those affected by Epidermolysis bullosa (EB) and LEO Pharma, a global leader in medical dermatology, today announced a non-exclusive strategic partnership. The collaboration focuses on researching and developing new treatment options for epidermolysis bullosa - also known as butterfly disease.
Epidermolysis bullosa is a group of rare and painful genetic skin conditions that cause the skin to be very vulnerable and tear or blister at the slightest touch. There is currently no cure for EB.
The non-exclusive collaboration combines DEBRA Research's expertise in patient care and pharmaceuticals with LEO Pharma's extensive experience in medical dermatology. The aim of this collaboration is to expand resources for the search for promising approaches and provide additional capacity to accelerate the development of life-changing treatments for EB and make new innovative drugs available to patients with this serious skin disease.
