New website showcases the NanoBiotechnology innovation network

Bringing together expertise from science, industry and other relevant fields, the ZIM Innovation Network NanoBiotechnology aims to foster interdisciplinary collaboration and advance new approaches in diagnostics, therapeutics and drug development. Managed by BioM, the network now has a new digital home at nanobiotech.info, providing insights into its partners, activities and technological focus.

Nanotechnology and biotechnology offer enormous potential when combined. The NanoBiotechnology innovation network aims to harness this potential by bringing together expertise from different disciplines and along the value chain. The network creates an environment in which companies, research institutions and experts can exchange knowledge, identify synergies and develop ideas for collaborative R&D projects.

At the heart of the initiative are innovative technological approaches with the potential to advance healthcare and life sciences. These include nanotechnology-based drug delivery platforms, miniaturized sensors and AI-supported analytical methods. By combining expertise across disciplines, the network aims to accelerate the transfer of promising research results into market-ready applications in diagnostics, therapeutics and drug development.

From exchange to collaborative innovation

A key element of the network is the close and continuous exchange between its partners. Bringing together different technological perspectives and competencies helps identify common challenges, explore synergies and develop ideas for joint innovation.

During the current first phase of the network, the partners are defining strategic priorities and laying the groundwork for concrete collaborative R&D projects. Regular network meetings provide an important forum for discussing new technological developments, exchanging ideas and initiating cooperation.

The next opportunity is already approaching: on 12 October 2026, the partners will come together at BioM in Martinsried for the 3rd NanoBiotechnology Network Meeting. The internal meeting will feature expert impulses on topics including lipid nanoparticles, AI in nanobiotechnology and 3D printing, while providing space for discussion, networking and the further development of collaborative ideas.

A new digital home for NanoBiotechnology

The newly launched NanoBiotechnology website now makes the network and its activities more visible. It provides an overview of the initiative, introduces the participating partners and offers insights into the technologies and topics that shape collaboration within the network.

As the network continues to develop, the website will serve as a central source of information on its activities, emerging projects and further developments.
