Two diagnostics start-ups among the winners of the 12th "Start?Zuschuss!" competition

The winners of the 12th competition phase of the "Start?Zuschuss!" funding program have been announced. Two life science start-ups are among them: Dermagnostix GmbH and hema.to. The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs is supporting a total of 28 innovative start-ups from all over Bavaria over the next twelve months.

The Bavarian funding program "Start?Zuschuss!" of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy is aimed at technology-oriented start-ups in the field of digitalization. Applications are open to young companies with an innovative and promising business model that have been founded within the last two years.

The winners will receive funding of up to 36,000 euros over one year for rent and personnel, research and development, and the market launch of the product.

Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs, Hubert Aiwanger, said:

"I want to create the best conditions for founders in Bavaria. With "Start?Zuschuss!" we have a very successful funding program that is well established among start-ups. With it, we help to ensure that innovative solutions and new business models not only remain ideas, but can also be implemented. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the entrepreneurial success of all the winners and look forward to many new applicants in the next competition phase." 

Winners of the 12th "Start?Zuschuss!" competition

A jury of experts selected the most innovative ideas and future-proof business models from nearly 100 applications. Among the 28 winners of the 12th "Start?Zuschuss!" competition were two life science start-ups.
Dermagnostix GmbH, based in Friedberg, Germany, is focused on the next generation of molecular diagnostics for human skin diseases. Accurate diagnostics can simplify clinical practice and improve patients' quality of life. Dermagnostix was already among the top 10 in the Science4Life Venture Cup 2020 and among the winners in Phase 1 in the Munich Business Plan Competition 2020.
Hema.to from Munich develops an analysis software for fully automated and AI-supported flow cytometry diagnostics of blood samples for rapid leukemia diagnostics.

After the competition is before the competition

The application period for the next round of the competition, the 13th "Start?Zuschuss!" competition, already starts on November 26, 2021 and ends on January 10, 2022
