Bayern International is a company of the State of Bavaria and has been a key player in promoting Bavarian foreign trade for more than 25 years. A large number of projects are organised worldwide every year in cooperation with the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs. BioM has been the development and management organization of the Munich Biotechnology Cluster since 1997. The BioM Cluster encompasses the Greater Munich area and today includes around 340 biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies as well as associated service providers. The core competence of the region is the development of innovative therapeutics, diagnostics, and underlying technologies, especially for personalized medicine. BioM also coordinates the network of Bavarian biotechnology regions in the Cluster Biotechnology Bavaria as part of the Cluster Initiative Bavaria. BioM supports Bavarian biotech companies at every stage of setting up their business. For this, BioM has developed a unique support program, tailor-made for aspiring start-ups and entrepreneurs in the life sciences sector - the virtual incubator BioM inQlab and the physical incubator MAxL (Munich Accelerator for Life Sciences & Medicine) for pre-seed projects and early-stage start-ups in the biotech and healthtech sector.
