Biotech Bootcamp by BioM and SmiLe – From Lab to Business – Apply now!

Do you want to develop and commercialize your biotech business idea? Together with SmiLe, one of the leading life science business incubators in Europe, BioM is again running the BioTech Bootcamp, an international 8-week training program. The hybrid business training programme is designed to equip aspiring biotech entrepreneurs with the knowledge, skills and industry connections required to transform a breakthrough biotech idea into a successful scalable business.

The BioTech Bootcamp is an eight-week hybrid training program where up to 10 European start-up teams are given the opportunity to validate and develop their business ideas with the help of life science experts. Through expert lectures, individual coaching and mentoring, participants gain access to entrepreneurial expertise and a unique insight into the biotech industry. This prepares them at an early stage to meet investors, pharmaceutical companies and other industry players.

The program, which focuses on the field of therapeutics development, will take place virtually from Tuesday to Thursday in October and November 2023. The program will conclude with a week of attendance in Munich, during which the teams will present their business ideas to the BioM network at a Demo Day.
The program is free of charge for the founding teams. It is supported by the European Commission, Merck and other sponsors.

The BioTech Bootcamp creates a platform for young entrepreneurs to verify their business plans and product ideas, exchange knowledge and network with like-minded people in an international environment. It provides valuable support in a group or one-on-one setting, with a mix of live and recorded lectures, expert Q&As, panel discussions, personalized mentorship, and pitch trainings. Each of the 10 teams that are chosen to participate is supported by a personal mentor as well as a pitch coach throughout the programme. The teams will get access Europe’s top two biotech hotspots, Munich (Germany) and Medicon Valley (Denmark and Sweden).

In addition, Merck will sponsor two teams to travel to its M Lab™ Collaboration Center in Molsheim, France, to meet experts and network. The center is Merck's first in Europe and offers biopharmaceutical manufacturers the opportunity to work closely with Merck scientists and engineers to solve their toughest challenges and accelerate the development of new therapies.

Applications are now open until August 6th, 2023 and reviewed on a rolling basis. Apply here.
We are looking forward to your application!

Kind regards,
Your BioM InQlab team
