Elixion Medical is the winner of this year’s pitch event at Digital Health Summit 2022 which took place on 9-11 November at the TranslaTUM of the Klinikum rechts der Isar. The Munich Start-up’s technology allows digital, contactless, automated and real-time monitoring and analysis of fluid carrying medical lines. Winning the EIT Health Prize is rewarded with prize money of 5,000 Euro.
Elixion Medical is the winner of the pitch event at Digital Health Summit 2022 in Munich. The company is a next generation medical device and cloud company. The Munich Start-up’s SmartFlow technology allows digital, contactless, automated, and real-time monitoring and analysis of fluid carrying medical lines. It is their vision to challenge the manual status quo with digital data collection via Internet of Things (IoT) devices and Artificial Intelligence (AI) backed analytics.
Chief Technology Officer Mario Roser had the opportunity to present this vision of improving patient care with their medical IoT devices and Software as a Service (SaaS). Real-time data and machine learning forecast the healing process for earlier drain/catheter removal and enabled early detection of complications and infections to improve patient safety. The innovation SmartDrain / SmartCatheter is designed as an early warning system. As such it is aimed at complementing conventional laboratory diagnostics, not replacing it. In case of abnormal situation detection, routine laboratory diagnostics should be performed.
