Learn from the systems biology

Coping with huge amounts of data, fishing out relevant information from a sea of irrelevant and redundant data, structuring knowledge - not only system biologists are faced with these challenges. The Clueda AG develops software for semantic information processing and was founded by Dr. Volker Stümpflen, Prof. Hans-Werner Mewes, and two other partners as a spin-off of the Institute of Bioinformatics and systems biology of Helmholtz Center Munich in 2012.

The methods to do this come originally from systems biology, tracking meaningful links for example in the immense amounts of data generated by next generation sequencing. So, the first application of the Clueda technology is an already established cooperation for the prediction of disease diagnosis with the Friedrich Baur Institute at the LMU university hospital.

But also other industries benefit from dealing effectively with information and its interpretation: the Baader Bank is interested in the young company as an investor and customer. Among other things, for the analysis of trading signals to derive a forecast of market development.

Ascenion, technology transfer partner of Helmholtz Zentrum München, has supported the process of establishing and takes a share in Clueda.
