Two healthcare start-ups can look forward to receiving funding in the "Start?Zuschuss!" competition. QuantumDiamonds convinced with its diamond-based sensors for various applications, Bonescreen with its non-invasive medical software for early diagnosis of ostheoporosis. The winners receive funding of up to 36,000 euros over one year.

The Bavarian funding program "Start?Zuschuss!" from the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy is aimed at technology-oriented startups in the field of digitization that were founded no more than two years ago. The funding program is designed to help young and innovative companies from Bavaria to establish themselves on the market.

From the healthcare sector, these two teams can look forward to receiving funding:

  • QuantumDiamonds: The start-up uses diamond-based quantum sensing to unlock the invisible in a range of applications, from semiconductor manufacturing to battery research to providing a new healthcare diagnostic platform.
  • Bonescreen: this spin-off from the Technical University of Munich aims to revolutionize the current osteoporosis screening market. Its non-invasive software enables early and thus preventive diagnosis of this widespread disease without additional radiation exposure.

Bavaria's Minister of Economic Affairs, Hubert Aiwanger, congratulated the winners: "Our competition has become established in the Bavarian start-up scene. I am convinced that every euro of prize money is well invested by the start-ups. They are developing the business models of the future. The more than 100 applicants have proven that they have their finger on the pulse with their topics such as cloud and AI software, IoT concepts and cybersecurity."

Starting Novmeber 22, 2023, the successful funding program will enter the next round. Further information on the application process is available at: Start?Zuschuss! Gründerland.Bayern.
