The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs supports technology-oriented start-ups with a new 2.1 million euro funding program to open up new markets abroad. Selected companies can receive up to 23,000 euros per target market from Start-up International.

With the new Start-up International funding program, the Bavarian State Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy aims to support technology-oriented start-ups from Bavaria in opening up new sales markets abroad. Funded companies will receive up to 23,000 euros per target country over a period of 12 months. The Bavarian Minister of Economic Affairs believes that digital business models should not be limited by borders.

Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger: "Digital and scalable business models know no boundaries. We want to build on this great potential and therefore support start-ups in opening up new foreign markets. In this way, we are promoting the growth and consolidation of the companies. This pays off - because every Bavarian company abroad is also an ambassador for our economy at the same time."

The program provides 50% subsidies for consulting and coaching services, marketing and advertising measures, and trade fair participation, among other things. A maximum of two new target countries can be opened up.
Start-ups that are no more than five or eight years old are eligible for funding. The 2.1 million euro program is part of the High-Tech Agenda Plus and was developed in close cooperation with the Bavarian Foreign Trade Center and various partners from start-up organizations.
